Prodigy of Rainbow Tower | Melissa Janda

In the post Tackling that TBR Pile: 2014 Reading Challenges,I spoke of the various reading challenges I was participating in this year. One of those is the Series Challenge. I’m aiming to complete 4- 6 book series this year. I’ve already got one under my belt (Divergent Trilogy) and have made progress on some others. I plan to count the following book series toward my goal:

1. Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth

2. Legend trilogy by Marie Lu

c. Champion– TBR

Legends of Windemere series by Charles Yallowitz

d. Family of the Tri-Rune – TBR

e. And however many more Charles adds to the series this year. I can’t remember how many books there will be. Seven, maybe? This could be difficult because he is such a prolific writer and I have to read all that are published by December 1^st for any of the books to count for the year.

After some pretty depressing reads lately (1984 and Brave New World, anyone?), I’m ready to be whisked off to the magical world of Windemere again. The teaser for today comes from the Prodigy of Rainbow Tower by Charles Yallowitz.

“Luke is about to say something to Nyx when a servant’s scream from the doorway cuts through the air. Everyone turns to see a panic-stricken butler backing into the mansion and staring with wide eyes at the edge of the porch. Luciana screams and scrambles out of her chair when she sees the rotting form of a zombie dragging itself over the railing.”

Oh, zombies. This should be good.
