At first glance I thought this piece was from Rosemarie Urquico. They are similar, but not the same. I’ve seen another one done as a poem. Here is a link to the others if you’re interested:

I think you must be right. Some of the re-blogged piece had identical phrasing to one you had. It must have gotten “distorted” as it got passed on. The original is lovely.
